West Bridgford Tuneless Choir
After meeting for 6 months on Zoom, we are holding a trial in-person choir session on Thursday 1st October. This won’t be at our normal venue as we’ve found somewhere larger to allow more social distancing and better ventilation. Registered members of the choir have been given details of this event and how to book. If you’d like to join us for the first time then please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll see if it’s possible to accommodate you.
The rest of what follows is as we were pre-Covid! We may well follow the remaining dates for the year if we get the opportunity. But there’s no such thing as a sure bet these days!
The West Bridgford Tuneless Choir meets twice a month – usually (but not always) on the first and third Thursdays. Doors open around 7.30pm for an 8pm start at All Hallows Church in Lady Bay, NG2 5BP with sessions lasting until 9.30pm including a break.
It’s £10 for your first visit and registration, £8 thereafter. Or you can sign up for a term for the equivalent of £6 per session, usually £48 for 8 sessions. Cards are accepted, as well as cash.
Our dates for 2020 are:
We are invited to appear at various events throughout the year. There’s no requirement for any of our members to take part and “perform”, but many of our members who thought they’d never sing in public have found it to be great fun. We belt out popular classics, ask the crowd to join in, and they love our enthusiasm and carefree spirit.
Here’s one feature on us from the Nottingham Post: https://www.nottinghampost.com/news/local-news/west-bridgfords-tuneless-choir-people-2352134 and BBC Radio Nottingham have made this video of us.
If you’d like to join us, please complete the form below. We’ll get in touch and let you know all you need – meeting dates, parking tips, etc. Then we’ll send you reminders ahead of each session. When you are ready to come along you can just turn up and tell John on the door that you are new.
If you do Facebook, you may want to follow our page for session reminders and to see what sort of things we get up to!
