Tickets are now available for our second Tuneless Choir weekend on 2nd to 4th February.   The response to our first weekend in Feb 2017 was so great we had to do it again.  Some things are the same… some things are different and we hope if it’s possible, even better.

On Friday and Saturday we’ll be based at Antenna Media Centre (NG1 1EQ) – a fully accessible business centre located at the heart of the Creative Quarter in Nottingham.  It’s owned by the same group who run Notts TV and is suitably trendy, with loads of tech so there’ll be screens for lyrics and sound technicians and such like.  Wasted on us but hey, it’s a lovely in there, a real step up from the venue we had last year.

  • Friday Evening: IT’S A ROCK* OUT (*other Music Genres will be included).  This will be part quiz, part challenge, part contest.  Your Tuneless Choir, or a subgroup of it, or indeed a cross-choir group, can form a team and answer music and tuneless-related questions.  We’ll have a professional Karaoke set-up, which may feature in the challenges… but we can also use and abuse all evening. Quiz questions will be relayed on screen!  A selection of meat and veg pizzas, pasta and garlic bread will be served between 7.45pm and 9.30pm.  (Please email in any dietary requirements as we can add other dishes to suit.)  There’ll be a bar for all manner of drinks.  The evening will run from 6-11pm but will be designed to work for those arriving from afar, with the totting up of scores on the doors not taking place until 10 or 10.30pm.
  • Saturday Daytime:  SINGING AND FLASH MOB Arrive from 9.30am for a complimentary tea/coffee.  We’ll kick off at 10am with introductions and a bit of group singing.  We’ll have three 5o minute “workshops” – singing sessions along a theme but without the work.  Choose from:  How to Sing Like Julie Andrews’, ‘Shake, Rattle and Roll’, ‘Twisted Tunes’, ‘Move to the Groove’, ‘We Need Each Other Now’  see details.  A light sandwich lunch is included, with fruit skewers and pastries. At some stage we’ll do a Flash Mob or similar – maybe this year we’ll have the sense to leave the timing flexible and see what the weather does as had good fortune last year and might not again! And there’ll be the now-traditional sweetie table of course. We’ll aim to finish by 4pm so you have chance to prepare for:
  • Saturday Evening:  PARTY! We’ll kick off at 7pm, with the now-traditional glass of prosecco.  A fork buffet will be provided, followed by another wonderful Tuneless Cake from Jenny the Tuneless Baker.   The Old Codgers band will be playing for us to sing and dance along to.  Their fee will again be donated to L’Arche – a charity supporting those with learning disabilities.  The bar will be open throughout of course. We’ll be selling raffle tickets to raise money for our 2018 official charity MIND which supports mental health.  And of course, we’ll be aiming to add a few surprises along the way!  The dress code is “sparkle” – so you can just bring your personality or be head to foot in bling!
  • Sunday:  SINGALONGA CALAMITY JANE Spend the morning at leisure – either seeing some of Nottingham’s sights (there’s quite a range!) or just having a lovely lie-in.  Then come along to the Broadway Cinema where Singalong Calamity Jane is showing at Noon.  This 1953 film stars Doris Day and Howard Keel and is full of yee hah and uplifting songs. The Broadway has a nice café that opens from 10am, so we can gather there beforehand, though if you want brunch then we’ll suggest other places as they only have cakes!  Come 2 or 3pm we can make our farewells there, until next time!

Attendance at this whole extravaganza excluding the film costs a mere £75.  Tickets are also available for each section of the weekend so you can attend one or more portions: Friday Night (£20), Saturday Daytime (£25), Saturday Evening (£35).

Tickets for Calamity Jane now need to be purchased direct from the cinema.

Included:  All venues, workshops, entertainments, food on Friday evening, tea/coffee on arrival Saturday, lunch on Saturday, welcome drink and dinner on Saturday evening.

Not included:  Hotels, travel to Nottingham, transport costs within Nottingham.

Please feel free to email Nadine at if you have any questions about the weekend.
