Burton Joyce Tuneless Choir

Our choir finally launched on Tuesday 14th September 2021!   And it was worth waiting for – an evening of singing, dancing, fun and laughter.

Having restricted numbers for the launch, we now know we can accommodate more people, so please feel free to come along!

The choir is based at St Helen’s Church on Nottingham Road, NG14 5DJ.

Going forward it will met generally every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month.  So in autumn 2021 the dates are 28th Sept, 12th & 26th Oct, 9th & 23rd Nov, Dec TBC.

Everyone is asked to pay £10 for their first session at the choir, to include a registration fee.  The regular price is £8 including refreshments.  Those who attend regularly will be able to sign up to a term in advance, for the equivalent of £6 a session.

The choir is organised by Burton Joyce resident Penny Clark, who travelled to West Bridgford to be a founding member of the first Tuneless Choir there.  Penny says “Having been an avid member since the beginning, I have witnessed first hand the utter fabulousness this choir brings to people. I hope we create a safe, friendly and fun environment so you can sing your heart out without judgement or ridicule.  So we can all experience the benefits that singing brings on every level.”

Accomplished community musician Sue Scargill leads the choir.  She says “I love to sing and I’m passionate about getting others to sing too.  I look forward to singing from the rooftops with you.”
